“Harmony for Change” pavada mājup pirmos brīvprātīgos!

Gulbenes novada jauniešu centra “Bāze” realizētā Eiropas Solidaritātes korpusa Kvalitātes zīmes projekta “Harmony for Change” ietvaros, JC “Bāze” ir pavadījis mājup jau divus brīvprātīgos jauniešus no Francijas un Turcijas. 

Jaunieši atzīst, ka šī ir bijusi fantastika iespēja un lietderīga ilgtermiņa programma, kuras laikā bija iespēja realizēt dažādas aktivitātes, savus izvirzītos mērķus un sniegt starptautisku ienesumu Gulbenes novada sabiedrībā.

Brīvprātīgais darbojās pie mums JC “Bāze” vairāk kā septiņus mēnešus, īpaši palīdzot ar sociālo mediju saturu, izveidoja vairākas izlaušanās istabas un ieguva labu kontaktu ar jauniešiem franču valodas klasēs un citas aktivitātēs.

“I recently finished a year of volunteering at the Bāze Youth Center in Gulbene ! It gave me the chance to discover Latvia, its culture, its people (and its winter), but also to work with a surprisingly big group of international volunteers who became great friends. We had people from all over Europe and beyond, so it was pretty diverse and fun !
 
At the youth center, I helped organize all kinds of activities, from sports to cultural events, cooking sessions and workshops. I also got involved in seminars and helped leading activities on topics I have interests in, and also gave French classes to the local community. The youth exchanges, with people from different countries, was to me a great way for me to discover intercultural communication.
 
The seasons were a fun part of the experience too. From snowy landscapes and ice skating sessions to the summer where everything turned green for exploring the countryside, it was a pretty unique experience to me. It was a year packed with very cool experiences, friendships, and a lot of personal growth. A huge thank you to all the friendly Latvians who welcomed me and made my time there so special. I’m really grateful to have been part of such a cool project and to have experienced life in Latvia !”

Betül no Turcijas

Betul jeb Betija(kā mēs viņu dēvējām) darbojās pie mums Bāzē desmit mēnešus, veidojot radošās darbnīcas bērniem un jauniešiem, ēst gatavošanas meistarklases un organizējot dažādas aktivitātes un pasākumus jauniešu centrā.

Spending time in Gulbene’s youth center, Bāze, has been an unforgettable chapter in my life. From organizing my own events during a youth exchange to participating in Talka environmental cleanup projects, working with children and young people, organizing creative workshops, and being part of such a vibrant community has taught me so much about teamwork, patience, and cultural Exchange and every task was an opportunity to grow and connect. I also had the chance to organize cultural events and even teach Turkish language classes, which added a unique dimension to my experience.

Whether it was learning a bit of Latvian, working with young people, or being part of local traditions, I found joy in every moment. This journey not only strengthened my skills but also gave me lifelong friendships and memories. Gulbene and its wonderful people will always hold a special place in my heart.
