Sudaba Gulmammanova no Azerbaidžānas!
Gulbenes novada jauniešu centrs “Bāze” ir pavadījis uz mājām jau trešo Eiropas Solidaritātes brīvprātīgo jaunieti “Harmony for Change” projekta ietvaros. Sudaba vairāk kā 8 mēnešus darbojās jauniešu centrā “Ligzda” Stāķos un GNJC “Bāze”. Viņa vadīja angļu valodas mācības arī pavisam mazajiem Stāķu bērnudārzā un deju stundas Stāķu pamatskolā. Arī jauniešu centros Sudaba rīkoja dažādas aktivitātes – radošās darbnīcas, ēst gatavošanas aktivitātes, kultūras vakarus un viktorīnas.

I recently completed my ESC volunteering experience at Baze Youth Centre in Gulbene, Latvia.
This journey gave me the opportunity to explore a new country, meet inspiring people, and grow personally and professionally.
At Baze, I was actively involved in planning and running cooking and handcraft activities for children, together with fellow volunteers. I also took part in various local events, which helped me get a closer look at Latvian culture and everyday life.
Beyond Baze, I also volunteered at Ligzda Youth Centre and helped in Staki Kindergarten. Once a week, I led dance sessions at Staki Secondary School — an activity that quickly turned into a meaningful and heartfelt connection with the students and school staff.
Another exciting part of my experience was learning Latvian. Before coming here, I had never even heard the language — but now I can form simple sentences and have daily conversations with locals. That alone has been such a fun and rewarding challenge!
Through all four seasons — autumn, winter, spring, and summer — Latvia amazed me with its natural beauty. I truly fell in love with its forests, calm lakes, and peaceful atmosphere.
I’m so thankful I had the chance to be part of this project and to live such a beautiful and unforgettable experience. Latvia, I’ll be back!
